The Department for Forest, Ecology and Environment Jammu and Kashmir, Government of Jammu & Kashmir, issued an order introducing an online inspection checklist, defined procedure, and mandatory uploading of inspection reports within 24 hours for services covered under the Business Reforms Action Plan (BRAP). The initiative aims to enhance transparency, efficiency, and time-bound processing of environmental clearances through the JKOCMMS portal.
As per the prescribed workflow, applications are submitted online along with required documents and are scrutinized at the Divisional Office. If complete, applicants are directed to pay consent/authorization fees; deficiencies, if any, are communicated online for rectification. Field inspections are conducted within stipulated timelines, with inspection reports to be uploaded within 24 hours. Post-rectification, cases are escalated to Regional or Central Offices depending on category (Green, Orange, Red, Blue) for final approval or rejection, which is made available online.
The order also specifies documentation requirements such as business registration certificates, land documents, environmental clearance (where applicable), mining permissions, and CA-certified investment details. The structured timelines across stages (generally 5–15 days each) are intended to streamline approvals and ensure accountability in service delivery.
